PIC History & Growth
PIC Corporation was founded in 1953. At the beginning, we imported one item from Japan. This item was our Mosquito Repellent. PIC’s Mosquito Coil main ingredient was Pyrethrum. This is a naturally occuring insecticide, which is made from crushed flowers. From this active ingredient came our corporate name, P.I.C. otherwise know as Pyrethrum Insecticide Coil.
By 1973 PIC was manufacturing our Original PIC Mosquito Repellent Coil in Linden, New Jersey. Our plant was the first automated mosquito coil plant in the world. Drive In Theatres across the country offered our coils. (To see the original Drive-In-Theatre trailer, click here).
As the company developed and our sales grew PIC moved to a larger, multileveled facility in Orange, New Jersey. This location started out with only 3000 square feet, but today we have locations on three continents for manufacturing, sales and shipping. By 1979, PIC had begun the expansion of our product line. We developed formulations and acquired registrations from the United States Environmental Protection Agency. We began to manufacture and market Ant and Roach Traps, Fly Catcher Ribbon and many other useful products.
Entering the new millennium, PIC has become a Multinational Corporation with sales that encompass the Globe. We have developed new and innovative products to fight insects worldwide. Our product line includes Flying Insect Control, Crawling Insect Control and Rodent Control. PIC has become an expert in providing economical solutions to the consumer.
